  Kokkino Chorio
Kokkino Chorio is about 200 m about sea level and has some of the most stunning views to the sea and mountains. Zorba the Greek was filmed here in the late 1960s and nearly all the village participated. In the kafenions one can still hear villagers still make their own case for which of them was the best dancer! One kafenion even remains as an homage to Anthony Quinn and Alexis Zorbas. The village is home to a number of traditional craftsmen as well as glass blowers. There is a fine new taverna situated in the old village school and a small secluded bay down a quite step hill for private swimming. Plaka is 4 km drive from Kokkino Chorio and Almerida a further 2 km.
